I think it is time to convert my vicious viscous to electric. Freerider mentioned that Gizmo and maybe a few others ( SS and Gandolf038) have done this before. Any pointers please guys? Pitfalls? Do's and don'ts? I would really appreciate it.

me 3 ive actually planned to do this over Christmas but the $$$ was not there so i will be doing it soon works out cheaper than changing the viscous and add a few kw to the drivetrain

I'll be watching this thread tooo...

Can this be done on the M cars ?

The vicous fan is just use to cool the raditor right? or any other engine components?

Where will the electric fan site... i think the E46 Ms have a electric fan setup..

one can drop the shroud or fit the fan on the shroud depending on your creativity
i will fit mine without the shroud as my never had a shroud since i got it
some of these fans come with fitting straps that one just push trough the core and bend them and fan is in place but i will make brackets and mount it properly

Will research and let ya know when ready.

I like the idea of no shroud, just more space, and the added KW is also good, also i think the gel in my viscus fan is "broken" anyway, so this will be a really good one, either way its going to cost me money, so I'd rather get more space up front, those M60's are not very forgiving in terms of bonnet space.

Going to do the same on the pontiac as well, and considering its already running a 540 radiator...
