With a DP you'll get minimal gains. If you lucky maybe 3-4kw. Its more about the improved throttle response, eliminating lag and prolonging the life of the turbo.

You should gain around 10-15kw and 20-40nm. Throttle response will also be quite a bit better

Your car will definitely gain power.

There are a couple of local tuners on Facebook who regularly post results and all of them have gained somewhere in that range that I mentioned.

As with all mods it’s good to do a before and after dyno.

Eish I dont user FB :skit:

I agree I need to find a dyno place near by. Tried FRNR but they told me they don't do dyno runs to the public. So looking for a place close by. Not sunninghill dyno tried them before couldn't get proper readings from my car so will never go there again.

One of the most widely used dynos in Gauteng is KAR in Spartan. Their dyno seems to be the most accurate (if there is such a thing), which is why I also do all my runs there.

To give you an idea - here is before and after runs of a M135i with DP. I cropped out the tuner and their details as that is somewhat irrelevant.

The gains are as the guys are saying. I have a dp on my 335i. I gained 18kw 40nm with it

Sounds right i got 20wkw on my m135i. The F8x is different altogether so I was wondering

FR&R is having a charity dyno day tomorrow.
From what I've seen, people aren't gaining final power figures from just DP. But it spools up better, so the curve does look better.

Try KAR Performance: 80 Plane Rd, Spartan. 011 975 7125.

Call ahead for a "booking", R200 for 2 runs.
I am taking my car back soon for an after DP only run.

Without a doubt you will gain power due to the (reduction in backpressure)....

Then add a tune to optimise air/fuel for even better performance.

AFAIK more backpressure doesn't benefit a turbo car in any way

He said reduction in backpressure, I have seen gains on most of my cars with exhaust/dp
