F80 ordering process

I did complain to BMW SA. They said they will ask their sales team to investigate, but I doubt they'll say anything different to what the dealership said.

To be honest this is why purchasing a very low mileage vehicle saves you time and cost. I agree that the specifing of the extras is a great plus but if you like me - patience isn't my strongest attribute.

I only started reading your thread now, as a follow F80 M3 owner I was disappointed with the stock performance of the ///M3 - and always found myself unsure at the robot with the Golf 7R, A45, RS3 and C63. JB4 and DP pipe is a must

Cool car. Looks sharp with the front lip spoiler. I guess its down to personal preference buying new vs pre owned. Its not so much the wait that I mind. Its the fact that I don't have an allocation & the dealership doesn't appear to be doing anything to help. So all I have is a worthless piece of paper. I do plan to do some mods when (if) I get the car (eventually).

I signed an RTP in February for an M2. Now it's just waiting game for an allocation. Don't even know why I sign the RTP since it seems like it means nothing.

That's hectic. Did you pay a deposit when you signed the RTP? I heard that all the M2's assigned to SA were already sold out even before they arrive. Its going to end up like the 1M coupe where guys bought it for around R500k-R600k new and preowned now selling for over R800k. This is nonsense, they said the M2 is not a limited edition like the 1M but it's going that way it seems.

No I did not. Other dealerships asked for deposits but mine said I should only pay a deposit when I sign the OTP for anew allocation. They were since there were long waiting lists at the dealers that had been started even before the M2 was real. I've been told the next set of allocations are coming in November. Gotta hold my breath until then. I even chatted with BMW SA about the low allocations we are receiving but they are not very helpful.

That's the frustrating thing with BMW SA. They know they have limited allocations but they won't be upfront and tell the customer. They will market & sell something that doesn't exist. If you want to know allocations about a BMW M don't bother with the BMW site, rather try independent sources might have more information.

So after 7 weeks of going nowhere slowly I cancelled the RTP with this dealer. I found another dealer with an immediate allocation for a special build. Lesson learnt, dont sign a RTP if a dealer does not have an allocation especially on an M car no matter what story they tell you.

Glad you did.
Hope this time it works out for you.

Thanks. I understand that must wait until 5000km before using LC else will cause damage to the S55 engine.

Worth the wait right?? Looks great bud:clapper:

Thanks. Definitely worth the wait. Pictures doesn't do SSII justice. You have to see it in person to appreciate its contrasting colors. It has a blue hue when not in the sun and changes between silver and grey as the light varies.

Congrats! Looks damn nice. The M3's seems to have much wider/flared arches as compare to the M4's. Looks a lot more aggressive and betterererererer.
