Hi guys. I think I need to replace my front shocks and have heard of Koni shocks here on the forum for half the price that BMW will charge. Can someone help me or point me in the right direction? What options do I have?

BMW asks R5k per shock.
Car have 155k km on now.

Koni is proper stuff

Had adjustable Koni's on my old track car. Quality stuff.

I would prefer buying Koni over OEM if its less expensive

So it seems Koni only have the fancy sport adjustable shock absorbers for my car.
At about r4800 they are still less than OEM but at that price I am not changing based on a whim.

Any other options that anyone can help with please?

BMW are ripping you off, the shocks sell for R3300 each, just checked my motorplan invoice....

Try Bilstein.

Have you contacted Moranor on the forum?

Don't get coilovers. You will only get cheap shit for the money you want to spend and you should do all 4 if you do go this route, in my opinion (although I would also just change read shocks while doing the front)

As mentioned above I’d rather replace all 4 shocks instead of only 2 at a time.

Do proper homework regarding the different options and also have your shocks tested/inspected. Then at least you know they are due for replacement and that the money isn’t being spent unnecessarily.

At the mileage your car is at I would expect your shocks to be nearing the end of its lifespan though..
