Hi All

Just wanted to know from fellow fanatics, when traveling on long distance trips (Like to Durbs etc) I have noticed that my steering tends to get "sticky" /stiff , is this normal ?

I have never experienced this on short trips in and around jhb. , but definitely noticed this on trips usually >300 etc , the steering tends to tighten and I can almost feel it being "sticky" , this is probably the best I can describe it as.

Look forward to your responses.

Thanks
V

That is an interesting description, you mean it becomes very rigid? So swerving for an obstacle for example at speed the car does not react well?

In Sport+ the 335i tightens up quite a lot but on open roads it's still very responsive. The 318i LCI went on a long trip about 8 months ago, can't recall it being like that. Have a long trip coming up around 3 weeks, will try to keep this in mind to see what the pre LCI does.. Can't say I have explicitly experienced that before.

Thanks .. no reaction seems in line .. just that initial move of the steering when you steering for some time along a straight roads, as an example when over taking there is that "slight stickiness or stiffness" , when you initially move the steering, maybe I'm being pedantic. Oh yes this is in normal comfort mode . Driving around in Durban now and it's all normal . So definitely over longer distances.
