F30 LCI creak/tick noise

Hi fellow fanatics

A mate of mines recently picked up a creak/ tick like noise from his door panels/ seats . Recently I've picked up the same noise in my F30 LCI . To say the least it's extremely annoying! The best way to describe the sound is like the "tick" "tick" noise when something contracts and expands. The sound is more of a tick rather than a creak, and it seems to come from the door panel.

Anyone else experienced this ? And if so what is the resolution? I'm hoping the dealers can sort this out.

Not sure if its what you're experiencing but some e90's had a cam lifter tick that was in a few bulletins but not sure about the f30's

Check the door knob that goes up and down when you open and lock the door, tends to rattle and this is common with F30's.
Mine has an annoying tick sound also , will have the dealer sort it out, when i hold the button down , it stops !
Also ask them to put anti-creak tape on the doors, should also help with the doors creaking when going over un-even surfaces.

Hi guys
Just checked with BMW .. Apparently they will be a recall and it's a known issues for F30s with the gloss finish. That is what is causing the noise . Taking it to the dealers to sort it out .

Still have to find out .. But thre guy mentioned they will clean rubbers and apply some tape

which dealership? I have the same issue but cedar isle and Northcliff Auto couldn't fix it

Taking it to Autoglen .. Heard Northcliff should able to sort it out . Weird! Hope Autoglen sorts this out

I've got the same noise on mine as well... Hopefully can get mine sorted as well! Is there a specific person u dealt with? I'm hoping I can get Sandton Auto to call them and do a similar fix for me.

Northcliff auto sorted this out on my car. Talk to Tony. Look at my posts late last year showing the fix they applied.

From what I read .. The only decent solution is applying Teflon tape , usually done by the dealers .

My F30 creaks and squeeks and ticks all ove rthe place... ive just learnt to live with it. From inside the doors, to the dash to the locking knobs, drivers and passenger side. Bloody annoying...

Last time i was in a car that made so many noises it was my old WRX tin box.

So I figured this noise could be emanating from the black trim on the door handle. Not sure if anyone with the piano black finish has experienced this. Going back to BMW

F30 is a creak box...learnt to live with it. Thank goodness the next 3 series wont be built in SA.

Tape sorts it out had the same problem only gloss finish beadings have this problem i.e. M sport

Ticking sound maybe it's a bomb hidden under one of the seats :crazylaugh::roflol:

Funny you mention that ...BMW reckon it's the drivers seat
