0-100kph 5.9 sec for a 4 pot is fast, and now its economical. Pity the straight 6 sound won't be there...

Well, at some point one has to make peace with these sorts of advances in technology and performance! Those sort of figures out of a 4 pot is quite phenomenal, especially for a medium sized saloon! Well, there will still be the twin turbo I6, and hopefully by then the HPFP issues will finally have been sorted out for good!!

Found another video that shows a closer look of the instruments and also the exhaust note...

Seriously good control around that last corner! I also think the interior looks really sweet. Still conservative like, but fresh and new.

Can definitely hear that it's a 4cyl, only so many tricks you can do to touch up the tone. Still, impressive car, can't wait to see one in the flesh.

Just thought I'd add this for the fun of it. 6cyl joy

That's the beauty of technology. Finding ways of doing things more efficiently, and I can't think of another car manufacturer that's been able to squeeze so much power out of a 4 pot 2 litre engine. In the future chances are that the 6 cylinder will be all gone as technology further improves and more of your die hard 6 cyl fans buy into the 4 pots potential.

The car will most definitely cost more that it's predecessor. Will the cost justify the savings in fuel?
What would the diesels be like?
Will Roslyn be building them too?

All and all the F30 has very impressive technology.

Good thing there is no oncoming traffic :fencelook:

Will have to wait and see this in real life.

Think a little bit harder.

LOL, yep, saving in fuel as far as I am concerned is practically rulled out by the typical price of any new car, let alone a BMW! When it comes to the used car market where the car's value has dropped, then it begins to make sense. Still, this is great when it comes to technology and performance - suck on that prius and other eco-dishwashers...

I'll start the list...

Audi S3 2.0T: 195kW/350Nm
VW Golf R 2.0T: 199kW/350Nm

i am sure the turbo+4 pot=nice sound? have you heard the 2.0T or even 1.8T exhaust notes, they sound damn nice, pity the 6 cyl groan would be lost, but i would be happy with just turbo throwing out all that love through the pipes!

I am not sure, heard two GTi's today (5 and 6) and they didn't exactly sound nice :yuck:
