F30 Halogen and Xenon headlight swap

Hi guys,

So I may be selling my car and purchasing a relatives as it is lower mileage and auto. Both are identical with the exception of mine having xenons and his halogen.

In order to swap is it just a matter of unplugging and changing the lights or are there any additional components that will be needed for the xenons to work on the previous halogen model and vice versa?

Any advice will be appreciated.

I think coding has to be done for the xenons otherwise you'll get error codes. I may be mistaken though.

I think the xenons also have their own ecu’s, that means wiring as well as coding. Over and above that, by law if you have xenons the car must be fitted with headlamp washers. I know the police won’t pull you over and give you a ticket for that but I thought I’d just mention it.
