:) lol this is an old thread but anyways let me comment where my car is now. It is back at the dealer. The engine was replaced due to faulty oil pump and the diff not sure why diff was replaced. I took delivery of the car only to find the oil heat gauge playing ping pong and sending mixed signals to the OBD causing the car to overfuel. I am told by BMW that when the engine is transported they fit the oil pressure sensor and sometimes these things get damaged or are faulty so my car is there to sort that as well as the needles gremlin where when you switch on the ignition the needles flicker. The headlight washers were not working from day one and I ask to be refunded the R2500 that I paid for them but no luck seems they are going to try and resolve.

Maybe this is not the place to mention this but it is about revving a car with an auto gearbox. The other day i was in one of the stealers spares section which is next to the workshop and i could hear the mechanic rev the daylights out of a car. I know there are not many manual shift BMW cars nowadays so this was probably an auto. Read that it is very bad to rev an auto when in neutral or park as it causes pressure to build up in the gearbox which causes the seals to pop. After a certain amount of time (like a few seconds) of continous revving it will cause damage to the box. Not sure if all mechanics are aware of this? Not sure if it still holds true for the new 8 speed gearbox as well.

Mine is manual, but point is noted I have observed the shit being revved out of cars on more than one occassion at Club Motors Randburg, both times I was in the workshop and the techy who was replacing my cluster made a comment " he overevved that engine with a smirk" Or ya it is in also for a special bulletin camshaft recall lol and this also on my "new" engine.

My car I hope is sorted because the 316 i loaner is performing better than my my 320i and the nerve off the techy to tell me that he feels the power is adequate when he took for test drive. Putting it in sport mode no longer even gives it a sports tone leave alone giving you a slight kick in the seat.

It's 2015 and Iceman007 still lacks common sense :bin:

Seems to me you are like one of those poodles barking on the other side of the fence at the big dog. And as soon as you open the gate then the barking is gone and also the big mouth poodle :blueCry::biglol:

Seems that you find joy out of insulting or derailing a thread. This is typical of attention seekers. So if you have an education there are places on the forum where you can do this and not derail a thread. If you still dont know where to do this then please ask Admin to help you.
