hi gents,
took the car for a drive to shops earlier for about 10kms and parked for about 45mins..then while attempting to leave, the car started up normally and moved slightly, but then just died asif fuel had run out. tried starting again a few times.. starts and then just dies. eventually after a few more attempts it just swings and doesn't startup.
plugged in laptop and bm3 diagnostic picked up one code: 11b018. basic Google search brought up possibilities pointing to the ekps ( fuel pump control unit) failure.
Dont have ista or bummer code to scan further. Just reaching out to see whether anyone in here has perhaps experienced this issue to share some pointers or advice please?
i am reading of things like the ekpm3 unit itself possibly being the culprit which is prone to failure with excessive heat.. maybe the fuse for it which I checked and looksokay.. could it be the actual low pressure pump itself or the high pressure pump perhaps.. any guidance will be appreciated.
