"What differences do you expect in the curve?"

Not diesel specific but I often hear people say things like "Top end power has really improved" or "Low RPM drive-ability has improved".

So does the curve never change after a tune?

Is this just in their heads?

Not implying anything generally interested.

The curve might change vs a stock curve depending on the car & some other variables. But most tuners curves will be pretty much the same. The reference in this thread was tuner X's curve looks very similar to tuner Y's curve.

Looks very similar to my curve and how the power gets delivered.

Guys, don't beat around the bush & just ask me a direct question. This innuendo is a waste of everyone's time & so is being polite on a forum & trash talking in the background.

I was the 1st to chip an F30 330d & started tuning them in 2015. I tuned a member of this forum's F30 330d in 2016 on the same dyno & made 225.

But prior to that I have been tuning the E90 330d' & while we at it we might as well go back to the fact that I have been tuning diesels for 12 years.

So no, I don't need to "tweak" another tuner's file, I know what needs to be done. And yes, the curves will all look similar if dyno'd in the same gear etc. I tuned one a bone stock one a week before and the curve looks the same as well. What differences do you expect in the curve?

Nice Mr Singh, car must feel epic, is this also a conservative map? Any plans on picking up the boost :smilebounce:

Hey Ray, no you can't just pick up the boost for the sake of it. These cars run high boost even stock. Need to do more hardware/cooling mods if you want to run more boost safely. Else you will actually lose power running more boost.

Hey uncle Singh :smilebounce:, So does it mean even though it is a mild tune the boost is already close to it limit and will require HW to unlock its full potential? I am only asking cause i dont know much about these F30s, the power that the car is making currently is epic no doubt about that. Also knowing Juvan it wont be long for before the other mods are fitted :roflol:

The F30 330d boosts 2500mbar peak in stock form. So yeah it's very high in stock form and the fact that we are at high altitude compounds it even more & makes the turbo spin outside it's optimum efficiency just to make the boost target. So yes, a mild tune is the order of the day for a car with no cooling/hardware mods.

Insane stock boost levels.. With some hardware this car will make some insane power.. IIRC my N55 STOCK level is 0.8bar

2500mbar-850(for Altitude) = 1,65 Bar

Diesels are very dependent on the Turbo
