F30 328i - JB4 vs Mtek vs BMW PPK

Hi,

I've recently bought a 328i sportline manual & considering an ECU upgrade.

Please advise your views of the 3 mentioned above & share recommendations if you are aware of any others.

I also wanted to know if using aftermarket plug & play systems can be set detected by the dealer & result in mplan/warranty being voided?

If your car is still on motorplan then JB4 would be ideal, just remove before service. The BMW PPK is a mild tune that doesn't justify the money. JB has more functionality and ultimately makes the most power safely.

I was told that they can catch if a car used those things now.. Before no , now yes.

There is no PPK for the 328.

Not if the unit was removed and any faults cleared before removal.

Agree 100% I had JB on my Audi for ages and car has gone in for unrelated issues and after many attempts to search for flags there were none.

Any tuner will tell you there is always a risk of getting caught out. If you don’t mind taking the risk with your MP, go for it.

That’s why none of them will guarantee that their software is undetectable by the manufacture.

There are a couple of new M cars floating around with cancelled MP’s
