Hi guys

I purchased a 2018 320i in July 2023, it had 42k km on the clock. I had extended the motor plan for 2 years - exp June 2025. I was hoping to get advice on any particular components that should get checked over the next year prior to the plan expiring. Looking at other threads, I realized I should've taken the car in for an oil service prior to waiting for the 20k service intervals.. However I will be approaching the 62k km service soon. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Do a gearbox service with ZF and change your service intervals to 10 000km. I also have a 2018 320i and its now on 109800km with zero issues and its tuned.

Nice spec on your car, a rare sighting that shadow line trim 👌 are you still on motor plan? was contemplating aftermarket warranties once the plan expires but haven't seen many with good experiences.

Aftermarket warranty I looked at only covered 50% of the cost of major repairs. BMW innnovation group and the ones offered by other companies. It was a waste of money, rather put that in a piggy bank account.
I made sure most of my maintenance items were replaced under motorplan to be good for another 2/3 years. On a weekly basis I check under the bonnet for any leaks or worn items. My next service item is the gearbox oil service as preventative maintenance.
I also took out tyre insurance for R295 pm/ covers R5000 for rim and R5000 for Tyre. I don’t want any surprises.

I am riding on hope ,nothing major happens.

Cars are too expensive these days, not worth it. New 320i M Sport fetching 1 million. Car industry has gone mad! Plus a 3 series does it all. Sporty Drivers Car and family cruiser to the coast with a spacious boot.

Lol completely agree. Used BMW's definitely offer excellent value for money when everything is working well. The warning chime always has me contemplating why I purchased a used BMW. Is it the seatbelt that's off or is the engine broken. Driving it makes it worthwhile though. I was initially looking at a G20 320i.. 2019 models with similar mileage was asking over 200k compared with the F30s. Granted there are some updates but given that the drivetrain was the same, I couldn't justify the premium.

Can I ask where you have your car serviced? I just did oil, sparkplugs and filters at the dealer and had to fork out nearly R8k which I thought was just ridiculous
