Always wanted to see if my M Sport gearbox was really faster then a standard F30 Auto gbox, and if so by how much, so I ran it against a friends standard auto and gear for gear my car opened the gap of the line:rollsmile: I expected it would but was great to experience the diff, we ran 3 times and each time was no diff! Really was worth the diff in cost

Cools.

AFAIK it's the same ZF box.. The sport box just runs different software, but I could be wrong.

Hi Bud , did you manual shift in the standard auto also to see the difference ?

Hozit, no we ran 3 times and all 3 times I let the computer change, cos we didtnt want any real driver influence .

Mmmm... It would be interesting to see the difference between full Manual Transmission and the Auto boxes... In my opinion the Sport Auto should win this as well. Technology these days are so much better than in the past. Has anyone tested this before?

I have ran my 1 with a Manual and it was a car length gap in each gear?:=):
the S/A is much faster of the line ESP if u power brake the car.

You can actually code SAT (sports auto transmission) if you just have the normal auto box :) but you won't have the paddles obviously.. Can retrofit and code those too though.

Sorry that I'm sounding dof now but what are you guys meaning by sports auto? Are you guys talking about paddle-shift or normal sports-mode auto-transmission?

Just curious as I got the paddle-shift sport-line F30 320D and haven't diced with anyone but with my previous E90 320D M-sport 6-speed manual and I actually beat other E90's that had auto transmission when dicing :cartel:
