F30 320d warranty

Hi Guys,

I need some advice regarding my 320d warranty. My car currently has 75000km on the clock and is a 2015 model. The warranty is going to expire at the end of August. So the question is do I extend the warranty or not?

Welcome to the forum bro. It all depend you, if you have the cash to extend, go for it. But IMHO, there is no need to extend the plan if your car has been maintained properly. My MP on my 2014 320D  expired in 2018 and my car never exploded, still goes to BMW dealerships for service every 10 000Km. I don't wait for the service warning to come up and got myself a spare wheel because I do not have BMW-On call for that car

Agreed.. Very little ever goes wrong on 320d,especially with full service and accident free car.. If it's paid up, or about to; then you should be okay.. Plenty of RMI approved service agents around

the cost of motorplan extentions are just crazy these days.

i would maybe look into an aftermarket warrenty. it will give you some piece of mind at the fraction of the cost

I had a base 2013 320d and serviced it every 7500km(inbetween service more or less) did gearbox oil on 70 000km for I was planning to keep it for a long long time. Rock solid engines those 320d. Then on about 109 00km on my 320d a 330d msport with a few few extras at a very very good price came up on my radar. It had 75 000km on the clock and for the price I did the deal. Sad that I had to let go of my 320d The week after I got the 330d took it to ZF and changed the oil and filter/sump. And then for an engine oil change at different dealer.

My advice is keep the 320d and do an gearbox oil change. Its about 5k but the oil does get old so do it if you keep it.

Welcome to the forum.

I have a 2013 320d with 125k kms now. Motorplan expired in 2018 and I took an aftermarket warranty with Innovation for R297pm. The thing is these cars are so reliable with proper maintenance that I will probably never use the warranty but it is just something I have for piece of mind. All I have ever done is services and brakes. Also been to ZF for a gearbox service. 

My advice would be to not extend the plan and save that cash. Start servicing the vehicle every 7500kms or max 10000kms and take it to ZF for a gearbox service as mentioned by previous posters.

My 2016 F30 320i 40th anniversary edition with 53000 km motor plan expires end of the year , BMW quoted 23k on a year extension.
I have a few questions , hoping for some guidance

Is extended warranty different to Motor Plan? What does it cost generally ?
What other trustworthy aftermarket reliable plans out there that would be the closest to motor plan ? Price ? And what has been your experience this far ?

I'm with Motorite, no issues with them except you'll have a shortfall to pay on claims. They just paid full amount on my water pump on my Merc.
