F30 2015 Climate Controls questions

Hi Folks

I have been scanning through my manuals and the car's online manual as well, but the information regarding the climate controls are very limited. I have a question or two and hope someone can help me out:

1. How or when does the climate control remember your selection of where the air should flow when that car is switched on again? For example: I set the left side to blow air down to the feet. When I switch off the car and switch it on again, it blows again to the body level, sometimes it remembers the setting. How does this work? How do you tell it to save or remember the last setting?

2. If I have my temperature set to the lowest i.e 16 degrees, without have the AC on, I can feel it blowing very cold air and this only happens when the car has been off for a while and it does this for a few minutes after which I can feel the normal outside cool air coming in. Is this perhaps an automated function to have thee aircon running regularly even if it is for just a few minutes due to perhaps seals or aircon gas?

I hope my questions makes sense. Should I perhaps contact the dealer regarding these questions?

Regards

Answer to number two is because there is still little gas in the pipe hence you feel cold air since last time the aircon was on and car was switched off.

I feel embarrassed having owned an F30 for some time and not knowing the answer On q1 mine seems to remember whatever it was last on anyway but I hardly ever use it on auto and I normally have it on the body level anyway so I wouldn't have noticed if it reverts back to that automatically. Is yours on auto or not as that makes a big difference? Normally auto will blow on the body level first but I don't think the arrows light up on auto to show you.

I prefer to manually control it, but it seems like I have to contact the dealer, hope I get someone that really knows

OBDWORX can help you out where you set stuff via the OBD2 (on Board Diagnostics) cable. You can set things like alarm sound aircon settings and numerous other stuff.
