F25 X3 Drivetrain Issues

Hi folks,

Have seen a few posts below here comments about the tranfer case on teh X drive system giving problems. One reply to the main post suggested that oil in the case should be changed on a regular basis.

Now that my 2013 is out of MP, at 101 000km, should I be insisting on this oil being changed?

I recall seeing somewhere on the forum a comment about "flushing" the gearbox / transfer case. What's that all about?

I have lived by the old adage "dont fix what aint broke" for a long time. Routine services and oil change in the motor yes but what about these other areas now?

Comments please:=):

Most of the problems on the transfer case is from the servo motor. It has a plastic gear in it, that strips.

With a good diagnostic system, it will tell you when to change the transfer box oil. It comes up with an error 54C6, oil abrasion under VTG (transfer box)

The main thing is to use star rated tyres and correct sizes to stop damaging transfer case which is very finicky
