F20 Parking control sensor

I am having a problem with my F20 transmission. I got home and my car won't park when i press the P button. It gives a click sound each time i press the park button.i diagnose it at a BMW specialist and the fault says Parking Control Sensor. Can anyone advise how to go about it.
