Hi guys, I need to change rear break pads for my car, quote is about R1550 for pads and R445 for sensors from BMW. Should I go for this or is there better/more affordable brakes aftermarket?

That sounds about alright to me. I was quoted about R2200 for rear pads including labour at Bosch Rivonia just a few weeks ago for my F20. BM M Power in Wynberg quoted me R2300 for front pads plus labour. I think they mostly are in the same price range.

2 things you can try regarding this.

1) Give ABM dealership a call and speak to Deago and find out from him what it would cost threw them to do the work

2) Get aftermarket parts and DIY or take to someone to do for you

Options aftermarket.
Pads:
TRW
Febi
Etc

Sensor
Surebrake etc.

drop me a PM and i can assist you with this if you want.

Gents,

I do not even bother shopping around anymore. You want OEM with good pricing, just call ABM and chat to Deago.

I did new brakes on my M135i F20.

Costs:
Front -
R1700 - pads
R230 - sensor

Rear -
R1400 - Pads
R247 - sensor

More or less the costs above...the labour to fit is expensive with BMW so I took it to XFlow in Randburg to fit them.

Ally charged me R1650 including skimming the discs and brake fluid check etc.

Now all this done within half a day...for convenience sake the pricing was great. Deago gets the parts ready for you within 5 minutes from the time you call for the quote, really efficient guy and very helpful on anything else on your car.

best bet, call him

My quote is parts only without fitting.

Good quote from ABM Daego, R1226. But i just found all four discs must be replaced and front brakes nearing end of life. My poor pocket...

Ask Deago for a quote on discs and then compare pricing with Powerbrake etc on discs too.

Yep, your pocket going to hate you but its necessities lol

Car will love you long time afterwards ha ha
