My driving has included a little cruising at the speed limit, some hard driving, a lot of urban crawling and cruising, often putting the car in sport and hitting it during them. So basically fairly inefficient driving. But I have used the stop/start function the whole time.
As the engine runs in and with the use of eco pro I believe the car can be a LOT more fuel efficient, if driven the right way.
Top car claims their "real world consumption" was 7.3l on the car they tested. For the sake of contextualizing, the new A3 1.8T quattro they put it up against got 7.7l/100km and while I've got this issue open the 335i Activehybrid got 6.6l/100km.
I would strongly recommend going for the 8 speed auto, as well as benefiting fuel economy it also benefits performance and is incredibly smooth and responsive. The sports auto at R2k more gives you paddles on the steering wheel which are nice, sportier software and a nicer gearlever. Not so sure on the sportier software, the gear lever is nicer but I wouldn't pay money for it, but the paddles are great when setting the car up for a corner!
Hope you got something useful from reading all of this!:thumb:

i was thinking about that, when I do that I will have fuel efficiency and power...
hmmmmm
can get a better speced 120d now for the same price as a 125i... the choices...
i am really torn between all of this.
then, when i think what they are going for I always think - damn, so much money for such a car - why not get something else :argh:

I just prefer the feel of a petrol car to be honest. Diesel cars are great, you can tune it up and get epic power, as a lot of guys have done to their X30d's and those cars FLY! And you get better fuel consumption. But I never considered the 120d as an alternative, it just didn't appeal to me. :dunno:

Standstill traffic everyday to work, spirited highway runs n everything in between lol!
