F10 M5 Drivetrain noise in sport plus

Hey all,

Any thoughts/input would be appreciated.

I have a 2014 M5, with the throttle in sport plus there is a slight clank/noise when you hit the accelerator pedal hard coming from the drive train.

Had the BMW mechanic listen and he says its 100% normal with these vehicles.

Anyone else experience this or something similar?

The rear subframe is bolted directly to the chassis - no rubber bushes like on the rest of the 5 series range.

You're hearing the sound of the diff clunking in its mounts, being transferred through the subframe into the chassis.

Perfectly normal.
Even the Owner's manual says so.

hi , I had the same issue on my M5, you still have warranty?

if so get them to sort out all rubbers around the gearbox, my mates does not make that noise, I took mine about 3 times. they fix it and then the noise comes back.

Yeah still on m/plan. Was keen on selling but now im in two minds. Noticed a very very slight shudder (which i'm assuming was the clutches) when taking off this morning, so guess im sending it in so Ill get BMW to sort those rubbers out too.
