discussion F10 530d - Overestimated performance or underperformed?

Hi Guys,

The past weekend a Mini Cooper S lined up next to me at a robot while I had my entire family (6 adults at an average of 55kg per person) in the car, we decided to give it a bash. The outcome isn't what I expected.
Needless to say, I got my ass handed to me and the reason for this post.
The next robot was red, I had a quick chat with the cooper owner. He said he had a decat ONLY. It looked like a 2012 or newer Cooper.
While chatting to the cooper owner, a fiesta ST (what looked to be a 2014 model) stopped behind me. The cooper and I had another go at it when the lights turned green. The cooper left me behind, the Fiesta joined in on the action and drove around me.

So, basically want to know if the car is underperforming or did I overestimate its power considering the weight?

PS. I haven't taken the car for a dyno yet and will do so in a bit.

Power to weight in favour of Mini....and all the weight in your car at the time.
Agreed, I did check that out, got the weights and power from cars.co.za

F10 530d kerb weight (1795kg) + 6 adults (330kg) = 2090kg/180kw = 0.08612
Cooper S kerb Weight (1215kg) + 1 adult (100kg) = 1315kg/135kw = 0.10266
Fiesta ST Kerb wieght (1170kg) + 1 adult (100kg) = 1270kg/134kw = 0.10551

https://fastestlaps.com/comparisons/d1dj35ge6ug5, this link says it should've been closer than it was though.
I will take it for a dyno to make sure the car is outputting the correct stock power

How sluggish did the car feel with the 6 adults? Cos if it felt kinda normal then definitely something wrong with your car. That motor has days of torque and shouldn't struggle thaaaaat much with 300kgs against an Fiesta ST.

till 140km/h, it felt good. Thereafter both started pulling away quickly from me.

Mini will have had better launches every time.
You would have been heat soaking a lot between pulls which will have affected performance. Any car with no cooling mods doing multiple consecutive pulls will experience this let alone fully laden.
I want to see the picture of these 55kg (average?!?) adult passengers.

330kg /6 is 55kg each?
i think someone is fibbing at the weigh in.
:ROFLMAO:
wife and her sisters(2 of them) are tiny, between 40-45kg each.
myself (70kg) and other 2 dudes, who look smaller than me, so I estimated them at 60kg each.
The weights are not exact, they are approximates. Apologies, I should've said that in the original post.

If you are in Gauteng, swing past for a dyno run.

It's most likely the weight factory that was at your disadvantage.

With that being said a stock F10 530d makes 165-170kw on the wheels up here, the Mini equivalent that you went up against makes around 130kw on the wheels.
