I am not sure about best time to do it, but I recall him say around 100000km the DPF is already nice and dirty. So it's a good idea to do it before then for health and longevity reasons

He showed me a result of one of their clients with software and dp, approx. 230kw and 650nm.
So what warranty is this that you still have and when does it end?
Would have been a different story with just you driving and DP with software.

Don't forget to put the car into sport mode.

2 year warranty (Expires 12/2023) with Motorite.
The car was in sports mode, weight was too much I guess.
I have attached the image below which shows what is covered through warranty in case there are members who are curious.
This is the best warranty they could offer me considering the mileage and age of vehicle.

:p
If I didn't have warranty on the car, I wouldn't be so cautious.

Chances are nothing will break for you to claim during the warranty period....that's how good these motors are.

You can also get a bolt on dp done and remove Cat that can be fitted back if for some reason you do have to claim.

For DP, the earlier the better bud. Software also beneficial in terms of switching EGR off etc.

Another member suggested the same thing privately, I am really thinking about this option.
I am more worried about the gearbox, I need to still take it to ZF for a check. The gearbox feels fine to me but then again I don't have a baseline to compare it too.

Thanks Bud, Appreciate the advice, and am definitely considering it :)

sold my 2014 330d at 200k km with software and decat and everything was still solid. If I were you I would do either downpipe or rip the guts out and weld it closed again with software.

Anyhow, was your engine warm at time of race? I found mine to be very sluggish if not at operating temp. I do have mechanical sympathy, normally...but did notice this. Its almost like a safety interlock to protect the car

Seriously considering this bud :D

For both pulls, it was at operating temps.
I also noticed the car does take a while (10km/ 10-15min Urban) before it gets to operating temps on daily drives.
I actually had it checked out at BMW and GST Motorsport because I thought it took too long, they both said it is within range.

Its normal for a diesel engine to take long to get to normal operating temps.
Your car is very strong! I would definitely get a downpipe (your consumption will improve) especially with the mileage your car has done.

And definitely take advantage of the free assessment at ZF on your gearbox, just to know where it is at.

Then downpipe and a remap, and enjoy the true potential of your car.

And you witnessed first hand the difference weight makes to a cars acceleration ;)

it is certainly quite heavy now in comparison, I get 10l/100km urban driving lightly.

Thanks Bud, Will do

Hi cos_mo,

These N57 engines are bulletproof, built like tanks.
Mine is the f10 535d with twin turbos, one small and one large for reducing turbo lag, pure engineering masterpiece. I had the ECU and gearbox remapped 2 years ago and must say it really makes the car come alive - still room for improvement though. The car still have its DPF in place (although it seriously need to be removed - I get error codes/ warnings on diagnostics).

The car currently has 260 000kms on, not a single issue besides a boost pipe seal that perished. Good regular oil services, good preventative maintenance and it will last a lifetime. What a pleasure to drive, best car I had.

Next on my list is downpipe and then more aggressive map. Can't wait.

Enjoy yours mate! (keep us posted)

Cheers!

Hey bud.
Tad bit jealous :p. You have an amazing kickass beast!
I looked for a 535d and couldn't get one in my price range unfortunately.

This is wonderful and comforting. I'm hoping to have the same experience with mine.

Aaaah that would transform your car into something else. When do you plan to do this?
Enjoy yours mate! (keep us posted)
Will do so on the showroom thread, Once I have some goodies to post. :D

Hey dude, honestly you cannot expect your 530d to run near a Mini S or Fiesta ST...Those Fiesta STs run away from the M135is as well when they are remapped. Their power-to-weight advantage especially with your car being almost 1.9tons is quite a bit plus your adults and luggage. Don't be disappointed at all, your car was built to be a comfortable, no-nonsense cruiser...with DP and Software, it will become a torque monster for sure but it still has to lug that big body as well.
