External Light Failed Error

Hey guys,

Me again. So last weekend I was busy cleaning out my cupboards and found a packet of LED park lights I bought for my previous car. They were brand new so I wanted to install them into my E87. Installing them was a piece of cake but I did struggle to get the left side working. Playing around a bit and pushing and pulling the globe I managed to get it working.

At the moment both park lights are working 100% however every time I start the car I get that bulb with an exclamation warning on the dashboard. This morning I managed to find the error code for it and it says CC ID 132. I can't seem to find any information on this error code for the E87 model.

Now obviously this error indicates that one of the parking lights failed because before I changed them I had no errors. I checked all the exterior lights and everything is working as they should.

Anyone out there with a similar experience? Is it because the voltage might be too low or the wattage is different than the originals? It doesn't specifically state on the packaging that its a W5W globe (which is what the car requires). Could it be that?

Also if anyone can point me in a direction where I could get information on these error codes for my model would be greatly appreciated.

For those who want to know - its the facelift E87 model (2010) with standard halogen headlights (no angel eyes, no xenons).

Google - looking up the code says "FRM 132 Front Right Side Light Failure"

Thanks. I also found similar results on Google with the same explanation although it still doesn't clear up why the error shows - I just checked now all the lights and they definitely working as expected. Will take the LED globes out and put the standard ones back in. Should solve it.

Thanks for the info though. Appreciated.

You need CANBUS led lights. I changed the leds on my bike as well with non CANBUS and kept getting errors although they were working.

I changed the leds to CANBUS ones and errors are gone.
