Hi all

Going on a 3 week vacation next week and my f30 320D will be staying at home. What do i do to protect the battery? I stay in a complex and car parks in a carport so cannot connect charger.

Hi,

Not a technical specialist, but I would assume that you could disconnect the battery.
But when you come back, you will need to reboot and reprogram everything when you reconnect the battery. I am sure someone here can advise.

Ctek battery charger is a great way to keep your battery charged and healthy while you away

Unless there is some sort of an electrical problem, there's nothing you need to do over a period of 3 weeks.

Correct and provided you have a good battery that has not gave any signs of giving up you should be fine. If really worried perhaps there is a relative or neighbour that you would trust to start it up once a week.

Disconnecting will mean the boot won't open unless it is jumped via engine bay which will be a headache.

Great thanx for replies, will just leave as is. It is a new battery less than a year old. Will also ask someone to start her up once a week at least
