Getting to the location I have in mind at the waterfront is going to be pretty er... Interesting...

Because you basically drive in at the hotel.. Drive through the shops past the NSRI and Cape Union mart... Swing a right and you there... If we go extra slow. Are aware of others and dont make a scene then i dont see why anyone should have an issue.

It will be very Italian job like. imp:

Alright guys... plan change. AGAIN lol

We meet at 2:30pm at the CTICC and do some shots there. Then we go to the waterfront and following Rohan and myself in the GP we go to the location as shown above and do some shots there... From there we drive to the bottom of Constantia Neck. I will leave my car there and hitch a ride in Rohan's GP. We will then go through the twisties to the top of Constantia neck where i will try and do some rolling shots out the back of the GP (We may need to do this a few times though). From there we continue to Hout Bay Harbour where we can finish the shoot and have a drink at the restaurant and be done by about 4:30 ish.

That will give us an awesome range of pictures... The rolling shots through the twisties has huge potential. Rohan will need to moderate though and allow everyone a chance to be behind the GP so I can get their pics hence why we may need to do it a few times.

Thank you Mini_G for suggesting the Houtbay Harbour... From there if Rohan could just drop me off at my car on Constantia side that would be great as I am actually staying in Hout Bay for the evening. lol

What a heatwave...i took some pics but was completely out of it...due to the heat...my pics look crappy, so we will have to wait untill Mike post up his.

Having owned a RENAULT F1 R26 2.0 TURBO this was a keen race... so here goes :wave:

On my way home from the MINI run and photoshoot...

Stopping for the traffic light at CTICC i find myself behind a CLIO V6 and a VR6 golf.
Lights shoot green dropping clutches and full throttle we off :arrow:

Climbing the bridge steping out in 3rd gear passing the VR6 tap for traffic.
They manage to squeeze thru traffic leaving me behind a cruising Microbus :x

Fighting thru on the N1 we all meet at koeberg interchange
Out under the bridge heading for Kings Stretch i choose the outter lane dropping from 3rd to 2nd passing the VR6
who is in the far right lane with the CLIO who is leaving him behind ...

I am know in 4th @ 190 Km/h gaining on the CLIO creeping up then being next to him as i change to 5th @ 210km/h
Now i start shaking him loose and opening a gap as 5th grows to 6500rpm

Changing to 6th we are approaching the bridge and im in front by +-4 to 5 cars
Passing under the bridge maintaining the gap doing 244km/h @ 6300rpm and taking it. :clap::clap:

Was an awesome event, we put a good show down of the MINI's at the V&A Im sure the pictures came out good, I Have a few and it came out very nice..:thumbsup: Thanks to all those involved in organising the event!

Morning all, great fun i had yesterday.....Sjoe joe Nice run croy:thumbsup::thumbsup:thats two thumbs up. Cant wait for the pics. Cooper share those pictures or put up them on the thread. Mike let's see those rolling shots hanging out the GP.. had a real laugh at that and with the boot opened its cause quite a lot of heads to turn, and people stared in amazement as we ventured past them......

First off...

Wow. What a fantastic meet. Amazing cars. Amazing owners. Amazing atmosphere and the venues were perfect for what I was hoping to achieve from a photographic point of view and I think you guys all enjoyed the drive too.

Exclusively Mini Club

I have spoken to Auto Atlantic and we are set to have an Official Cape Town Mini Club.

I will start a separate thread in a moment where the details will be found. I dont mind running the club and it would be an honor (Assuming nobody objects) to manage such a fantastic club.

The pictures

I am extremely impressed. The shots in front of the Table Bay hotel are awesome and the rolling shots came out great. The top of Hout Bay were also fantastic especially with the individual owners getting a chance to do some shots with their cars.

I got to play with the 325CI over Camps Bay with the GP. Boy does that car shunt! And I never floored it once. Just gentle calm driving and still flying :clap:

The GP has such a track car feel to it when you are cornering etc. It handles so well and is easy to drive. You clutch was a bit difficult to master though. :spit:

How can I object? The GP is like the ultimate Mini. I have adverts etc all over... Just hoping for a call.
