Exclusively Mini Photoshoot (Pics Updated)

Alright guys

As the organizer has organized... We are having an exclusively exclusive Mini Photoshoot.

Now...

Date: Sunday 7th March 2010
Time: Mid afternoon. 2pm till 4:30pm.
Location: Kalk Bay Harbour (Attract a crowd and stunning scenery)
: Simons Town (Nice drive, awesome views)
: Cecelia Forest (Eerie mood and pretty area)
: Random. V&A Waterfront... Amongst the crowds and in your face.

Any other suggestions?

Please confirm availability... Im sort of fulled booked at the moment on Saturday but Sunday I have open. Next week I work till 5pm. So cant do during the week itself.

Lets here what you think!

P.S - Rohan... Can I drive the GP Please :excited:

sounds like a plan!
can picture you hanging out the back with yr camera lens snapping....with the bootlid open and using the rear stabiliser bar as yr anchor..hahahhaaha there is a reason the gp has no back seats bro..lol...but ofcourse son...u are presumably buyiong it hey...:)

this sunday is cool bananas for me!

Hahaha now that you mention it Rohan... thats a brilliant idea! I knew the lack of rear seats would come in handy sooner or later... No really.... We could get some great rolling shots. Does the car let you drive with the boot open? :excited:

So.. Location... Everyone happy with Kalk Bay? I fear it may be very busy though.. Either that or Simons Town has potential... I really like the idea of shooting at the waterfront. It suits the car and has lots of potential.

What do you guys think? I vote Waterfront and surrounds.

kalkbay sounds like fun or that side...but they freeking working on da roads so we have to use boyes drive or oukaapse weg ....yip the mini's boot will stay open get some lekker bungee rope so i can clamp u vas on my rear strut bar...lol

and there is that naval festival happening this weekend in that area so its gonna be to hectic i think

Alright Gents.

Venue: V&A Waterfront...

Near the hotel at the NSRI dock. We can then continue from there into the actual Harbour and do some shots on the Paarden Eiland side of the Harbour. I then figured on route there we can get some great pics under the bridges and do some rolling shots finishing the shoot off at Cape Town Stadium or maybe at the cable station on the mountainside.

The catch:

The location I have in mind for the Waterfront is very much central. Its literally in amongst the shops near Cape Union Mart and Quay 4. Also on the hotel side... This could either benefit us from an exposure point of view or it could upset some people. If we use this location I need you guys to understand that it needs to be quick and controlled. Access shouldnt be a problem.

The harbour we will have to enter from Paarden Eiland's side. I have a pass but only for one vehicle... But the Paarden Eiland side isnt access controlled.

The rolling shots we will do from the back of Rohan's GP on route.

The final location (Cape Town Stadium / Cable Station) is more just to chill out and enjoy the company as well as try get some decent pictures. The cable station is subjective and Im not sure how ready the stadium is... But 6 Coopers and a beautiful stadium as a backdrop could be amazing.

Is there anyone who objects or has a better location in the CBD in mind? Im open to change and may still change my mind. :mmm:

Now I just need a Mini! lol :bawling:

waterfront clocktower also is a good venue hey.....simonstown/kalkbay there gonna be littered with traffic becos of naval festival happening

the port is access controlled, but it could also be great for pictures esp by the yachts side their a couple of old rusted boats, lol:excited: their is also hout bay harbour off the pier form mariners wharf, great backdrop.... :thumbsup:

Thats why I decided to change the location :thinker:

The roads that side are somewhat shocking and Boys Drive backs up very quickly. I think the Waterfront will be ideal... I just need to confirm that we can get in to the location I have in mind...

This is the location I have in mind: (Red marks where the cars will park)

You are going to have to show me that side... I havent been there.

I know from the CBD side the harbour is controlled. But if you come in from Paarden Eiland there is no security.

Your suggestions sounds brilliant! I even considered having the cars outside the Aston Martin building which is a very nice area.

We could even make use of the underground car parks for shots... But my camera doesnt handle low lighting very well though.

Alright guys... plan change. lol

We meet at 2:30pm at the Waterfront and do some shots there... From there we drive to the bottom of Constantia Neck. I will leave my car there and hitch a ride in Rohan's GP. We will then go through the twisties to the top of Constantia neck where i will try and do some rolling shots out the back of the GP (We may need to do this a few times though). From there we continue to Hout Bay Harbour where we can finish the shoot and have a drink at the restaurant and be done by about 4:30 ish.

That will give us an awesome range of pictures... The rolling shots through the twisties has huge potential. Rohan will need to moderate though and allow everyone a chance to be behind the GP so I can get their pics hence why we may need to do it a few times.

Thank you Mini_G for suggesting the Houtbay Harbour... From there if Rohan could just drop me off at my car on Constantia side that would be great as I am actually staying in Hout Bay for the evening. lol

Is everyone happy with this arrangement?

Sounds like a plan, :excited::excited::excited::excited: i'm bets guys see you all sunday 2:30pm at the Waterfront at the back of the table bay hotel so if there's no issues we can enter the pier for the pictures form that side.

Where in waterfront are the shots going to be taken? As mentioned previously? Will they allow us in there?

How many MINI's are going to be part of this?

Suggestion: How about taking a few shots at the CTICC/Westin Grand, with the "modern" background of the place?
