Use normal tyres, 235-35-19 for the front and 265-30-19 for the back. Falken 452 is a good tyre for a good price. Go to bmw and get a spare wheel kit for e9x

defnitely mate and shockingly the kit does not take up alot of space in the boot, still enuf space:thumb:

Cool. How much are they and where can i get them in jhb? At the moment I only need to replace my rear tires 255/30/19. My front runflats 225/35/19 are still good with more than 60% thread life remaining. Investing in nonrunflats would mean I replace all four tires and buy the BMW kit.

All BMW's Have that problem! You launch hard ALOT!! the independent suspension pushes down on a hard launch and causes negative camber on you rear end! only cure is a stiffer rear suspension!

Latest story, Dealer cannot find stock of 255/30/19. All tire place have no stock since they get the tire from the same source. The only people who import the tire is Bridgestone and Pirelli. Both have no stock until mid-end June. The dealer has advised me not to drive the car after inspection of the damage. I'm now stuck. I asked the dealer if I can put normal tires at the back. They are saying BMW SA will have to approve that because if any claim against the motorplan can be attributed to using non-specified tires, they will dismiss it.

I also think they talking BS. The rear runflats have given up. I drove them flat for +-100kms and they look very bad now. They said if I continue, I'm running a risk of damaging the rims.

bmw says u can use any star rated tyre.
michelin, bridgestone even some dunlops and continentals.

run flat's are only an added feature , it has nothing to do with the motorplan.
i did it , no problem at all on my 335i
i put on conti sport contact 3's

Replace them with non run flats, there is no problem with motorplan, you will think you driving a different car, what a difference.

Why would they offer spare wheel kits for e9x if it was a problem to put on normal tyres. My tyres have arrived falken 452 and has soon as i get my vmr wheels from revo 8.5 and 10 i'm gonna put them on and get a spare wheel kit.

Good question indeed. OK, I have decided to put normal tires on the car. Now, can I leave my front runflats and replace the rear runflats with normal tires? Will that affect the car negatively?

i agree with Anile if its not the same thread pattern it affects handling allot! but cant see how it will make a difference if its the exact same tyre but just nor RF..

run flat's have a stiff side wall as such the handling will be affected by how the car loads pressure on the sidewalls in corners.

i had michelin ps2 upfront (non run flat) but extra stiff sidewalls , and toyo proxes on the rear
car was deadly , didnt handle at all.
changed to all toyo and problem gone.

When using non-runflats, what are the recommended pressures for tires? I will change the fronts to non-runflats. So far, I'm running Toyo Proxies on the rear. They felt terrible around corners in the 1st few 100kms but now, they ride much better. I'm noticing already a huge improvement in ride comfort.
