Error code 2c57

Hi chaps,

This morning on the way to work, cruzing at 110km/h in my N55 (Current mods are JB4, BMS DP and CP), the half engine light comes on big and bold. Already suicidal, I realized that I was robbed of boost

I have a permanent Android tablet connected to the JB, so quickly checked codes, and found the 2C57 boost disabled code. I simply deleted and started driving faster:skit:. Drove about 20km since and the code has not returned, but now I live in fear the treacherous return and feel like my car will limp at the most inopportune time.

Surprisingly this was the only code as this usually appears with other error codes indicating the reason for 2C57.

Anybody had this experience?
Why would this code appear in isolation?
What do I look at?

I wish I could help you but hopefully someone with experience with help you out.

These BMWs sometimes kick codes that make no sense. I once had errors pop up on my 320i warning about the gearbox. Red and yellow warnings plus a limp mode was activated. Got home, started the next day and all was fine. Didn't clear anything or even get to point where someone could check the codes. Yet I always worried about the gearbox even though I drove it for at least a year longer in the same manner I did before and not a single issue again.

Hi guys

Funny thing is - it never came back. I took the car for a short spirited last night....and no issues.

I wish BMW could be half as reliable as a Toyota.:cthulhu:

The code is boost leak related, which could be anything from a loose or worn out vacuum line to waste gate controller.

These cars will throw you into limp mode when it detects that something is out of tolerance. You may have lost boost momentarily or detect boost below target range for that gear and rpm.
