Erratic behaviour of Blower Fan (E90 330i)

Hi Guys,

Has anyone experienced this problem on there E90 330i, I have a 2007 E90 330i, the blower fan tends to start spinning at times a lot faster than normal (sounds like a plane on take-off). I would understand if the vehicle was overheating and the fan needed to kick in to cool the engine down, but once the fan starts spinning it never stops until the vehicle is switched off. This morning it happened in peak hour traffic a few blocks from home, what I then did was switch the car off and waited a few seconds before switching it on again. This time the fan operated normally. I have read on other (US) beemer sites that this problem occurs when the resistor/fuse that controls the fan is faulty. Not sure whether this will apply to us here in SA as well or maybe this is a sign something is about to fail.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Regards,
Sabre
