Hey guys...

I have a little problem thats been bugging me for a long time...

I work everyday and only drive my car to and from work, which is on hours that bmw dealers are closed.
There is a engine light that comes on randomly when doing long journeys nw and then...loose power and then I put the car off and then start it again ... its gone.

I have organised with 3 diff dealers to come fetch my car from work... they keep it a few days and then cant find whats wrong...they swear they have looked at everything... but the light still comes on nw and then... due to work i can't take the car in when the light comes on... I put my jb4 on it doesnt boost what it should. ..

Im in the benoni area... help !!!! Can it be one of the sensors ?

I would check the boost control sensor, would throw that error, but if its not 100% then it would be sporadic. Other than that, I am not too sure man. Thats the only sensor that has thrown that error for me. Also check that the car, with JB4 installed, isnt automatically changing to Map 0 or Map 4. It sometimes does that aparrently

My 335 does the same. Only if I hold throttle position. Like when I'm using cruze control. This happens only after long trips, like mor them 80Km's or so. Strange....

We tried doing logs... and it came as boost errors and wastegate...asked the guy at bmw to check the wastegate... they found nothing wrong with it...

Yeah mine is exactly the same
Bimmer330... not even racing or pushing it and it comes up... have you sent your car in to bmw ?

By any chance is your car throwing a 30FF boost leak error ?

What time do you finish off work? I work in linksfield , maybe I can help you log the car one evening and try to assist ?

Have you tried using the auto clear function of the jb4 as a short term fix ... Just to see if the car behaves the way it should when there is no errors

I got someone to look at it tomorow .. he says he can sort it out... cant remember if that was one of the error code it threw? .
.it already started when I had the procede...thought it was the software that was faulty...so bought the jb4 ..but I havent had the jb4 on over a year and the light still comes on ... but till the light comes on she is running perfectly...

Thanx german spec... will see if I dont come right 2moro then ill send u a pm and organise... if bimmer330 is also experiencing it ths thread might help him as well... will keep ths thread updated ... hopefully between 2moro's guy and germanspec we can sort ths out....sigh...really upsetting... I have a lot of mods in the garage and cant use em to full potential coz or ths problem...

If the check engine light comes on and your engine runs at a reduced power, more than likely your HPFP is on its way out - I would let the dealer check that if I were you.

Really nice 135 you have there. Have you done anything to it performance wise? My brother had one that put down 430 to the wheels (320wkw if converted I think...), was an absolute beast but gave him a lot of problems. The previous owner we found out really pushed the car and took it nearly everything weekend to the drags or racetrack. I guess when he bought the car the racing bucket seat should have been a dead giveaway in the place of the original lol

Hahaha... at the moment no mods on it ey...
Yeah these cars r beasts... thats crazy power he made on the wheels. ..

Just wanna update everyone on the status at the moment... we ran some tests and got some codes ..
And we found that there was a tear on a belt that goes through the pulleys...
So bmw is replacing the belt and putting in new pulleys as well...

So when I get her back we will do some more tests and see if she throws any codes...

Wish me luck...

This problrm is most probably HPFP related.
these pumps run verry hot due to the position it's sitting in the engine bay.
The VAG car's pumps are sitting on top of the head and cools off much beter then the X35's pump.
