Engine fault

Hi guys. I bought my 135i a few months ago, had this error popping up, ever so often. Puts the car into "limp mode", but as soon as I switch the car off and on again, it's fine again.
The car has a JB4 fitted, could the error be coming from that? I have disabled the jb4 and still received the error. And it doesn't matter how you drive for the error to pop up.
Should I be worried?
Thanks.

You could possibly have a boost leak , are you getting a 30FF code?. What mods do you have and what map are your running?

Check the charge pipe for any cracks as well.

Running map1, no other mods. Where would this code show? Have not seen anything in that regard

1.) do you have a USB cable connected to your JB4?

It's imperative that you do, as you need to check settings on the jb4, read your faults and update software via the USB and your phone or Laptop.

2.) Was the jb4 purchased second hand, if yes it could also be likely that the wrong settings and old software is still on there.
Reading your faults and checking the setting will help a lot

3.) When does it do this...When you cruising, when you holding a gear for long, or when you going WOT?

I think the important question here is rather how do you get 619km from half a tank of petrol with a 135i?? :fencelook:

I hope you get sorted soon!

I'm going to put my money on 1 of 2 issues:

1. Either the vanos solenoid errors
2. Boost Leak / Intake under pressure error

Just install the JB4 app to a laptop, hook it using USB and read the DME. easy easy.

You don't need the JB4 USB cable to read the codes. The JB will display the codes using the dials. Just keep a pen and paper handy.

This is the easiest and most useful way :)
