End of Mplan and service

Hi Guys

This is probably something that comes up often but cant really find what I want by doing a search.

I have a 2011 320d msport on 91k and I have 1 more service left on mplan.

What are the major things I should ask to have checked at this "last service"

Feedback will be appreciated.

Thanks

Also have a 2011 320d, here is my 2c.

I requested a few items to be checked, ie "clutch shuddering", "suspension rattle" etc. In the end nothing got replaced, I just got a normal service. Conclusion, unless something is actually wrong, you wont get it replaced, unless you know the DP or something.

Well, it all depends how your car was looked after pre 100 000km.

1. If you drive a Manual - Clutch
2. If Auto - get the gearbox serviced @ 100 000km as preventative maintenance- highly recommended.
3. Dual Mass Flywheel @ +_ 150 000km
4. Turbo (depends, some people have more than 200 000km on the original)
5. Shocks - get them checked out, again, preventative maintenance.

Apart from that just stick to your normal service intervals, and dont skimp on original BMW filters (oil, air and diesel), and good quality Oil.

I wasn't searching in the right place.

Searched in the diesel fanatics section and actually found a lot of useful info.

Mine is coming out of M/P in 3000km.
Will def look at point 2 and 4 as it is due for the last oil service in 2500km.
Took car in for breaks 2 weeks ago and asked them to check the shocks. They were worn out so it was replaced.

Another item to consider is the diff as those can fail.

Any ideas on approximate costs to repair or replace from BMW for these points if they should fail?

Rule of thumb. BMW will not cover anything, if nothing is wrong.

Agreed, that's why I mentioned it. I'm pretty sure that they don't have service interval on gearboxes as they do with engines so you would either need to have a problem (in which case you probably need a new box), or get lucky.

Is your clutch shuddering and suspension making noise...? If so then something is wrong and it should be repaired under warranty unless it is proven that you go offroad with your car and burn the clutch at stop streets.
