End of Motor Plan

My motor Plan expires next month - any advice on what to complain about? I will ask AA to check for fault codes as I get an intermittant oil light which stays on after switch-off. Oil is fine. Car has now done 77,000 and Service 2 was done late last year.

Get them to replace the oil level sensor, thats what is causing the oil light to come on like that. Eventually it will come on everytime you start your car for about 30 seconds, and the sensor is almost R2k.

Control arms and bushes, and what about that clutch shudder you keep feeling :mmm: there is also that clunk every time you change from 1st to 2nd and you would like them to replace diff mount bushes. Check that they cant possibly do brake discs and pads, this will depend on wear of course but its worth a try.

Thanks Freerider. I had them replace discs & pads late last year, and I complained of klunk so they replaced the whole diff & side shafts. The pinking also got me a new Vanos. But control arms & bushes me thinks need attention. The oil level sensor for sure and I'll keep the old one for wife's car - her light always stays on for about a minute.

Have them check it bumper to bumper... every squeek every niggle. Be a pain in the @ss. Check the oil sender unit on the sump, have them check the oilpump aswell. Radiator expansion tanks, Control arms and bushes, front and rear, viscous clutch on fan, aircon system, and belt tensioners... THe above are all things I had to replace 7000km out of MP on my e46 325i. Cost a pretty penny, and 10000km later a steptronic box rebuild...

If the 330 is your daily drive, consider another motorplan extension. 77 000 Ks is nothing in the bigger scheme of things and that 330 will carry many more miles before it begins to show her true colours :)...but if anything major do happen they are very expensive to fix...yes, there are enough parts lying around to fix almost anything on it cheaply but you could face soaring costs unexpectedly...My dad use to say "never buy a 3 liter motor"...well he was referring to the 3 Liter Fords of hey day...which were notorious for breaking down absolutely, and from there hence forth...
Just a thought :thumb:
