Nice one.... I cannot beleive this crap

I work for a significantly large private company, and I work my ass off for what I earn.

For some reason I did not get paid this month, had to cancel all my long weekend plans....., my sound install, my braai, my guests from JHB my life this week basically.

Discovered today They fscking email each other with our salary details and somebody "lost" an email.

So here I sit like an utter doos whilst all the relevant people who can fix it are enjoying a weeks leave......

Terrifying experience seeing as most of us live on the financial edge of reality here in sunny South Africa

Thats BS!!

Sheesh!! The one big thing I learned from my dad when I started working at the family business: You make sure you pay your employees every month at the same time. Only then do you pay yourself.

You can't "forget" to pay someone? That's just plain wrong!

I had to work on Friday, the Braaiday, till 7 the evening, without overtime...

My salary is gone within the first couple of debit orders anyways...

Completely unacceptable, and personally I think it is more then a cash flow issue than a "oh we forgot you" issue.

If your salary stays constant then it is already preloaded on the payroll and just repeats.

Anything that makes money and runs like a well oiled machine without idiots emailing each other.

Look up the comedy skit by Jeff Foxworthy and stupid people, he prety much nails it down how I feel.

Well I would be intersted in somethingl like this as well :) (I have some skills at least)

Trying to push a new project yet we have been waiting more that two week for management to come back to us with the most basic desicions they to make.

Edit: not to mention our MD only works one day a week but they have no problems with cutting other people's pay by up to 60% (Managemnt still draws full salaries of course)

I had the same experience a few times over and on one occassion I took it upon myself to be the peoples spokes person. I ended up getting into a major arguement with one of the Director's of the company as he refused to acknowledge the incompetency of the people in payroll. My team was greatful for my efforts but I was in kak with the Directors for a long time thereafter. Most people are extremely dependent on their salaries being paid on time and it really grinds me when a "don't give a damn" attitude is displayed towards these matters even though some @rsehole has not done his job.

This morning I sat and listened to two women bitching at each other on the phone about who did and didn't make the mistake, not how they were actually going to fix it.

In the mean time my bank accounts are just about to go stratospherically negative.

Imagine the people who's debit orders run on the same day as their salary hits the banks ..... they are going to be baying for somebodies blood because of the RD's and or going into overdraft. The best part is that you have no chance of the company footing the bill for their cock up!:banghead::cursin:

Jeff Foxworthy is just awesome. Ever heard of Dennis Leary ?

I have a business model in mind for kinda like a west coast customs but with dynamics to suit the african market, operating in SBU's from organic growth. I have been looking for oppertunities for a very very long time now.... and its few and far between.

Looking at another one this afternoon...

You do not need to have any debit orders, you can cancel them all, and pay electronically, you can even load the electronic payments on your profile, but all you need is for one month something like this to happen, your debit orders get returned, and you cant finance a car for two years because you are all of a sudden "a bad payer"

If I'm correct the labor law protects you from sh!t like this Rick.

You might want to have a look in that direction. Not cool of them at all.

I was working for an international recruitment agency a couple of years back. We were paid in pounds, great stuff.. but our boss with held our pay for 2 weeks because the exchange rate fluctuated by 10c-15c!! The entire company (30 or more employees) all had bank charges for late payment and failed DD's!

I feel your pain. Incompetence is laughable at times! :hammerhead:
