Electronic diagnostics

Just a heads-up . Be careful of these wannabe technicians that bought a diagnostic tool, and thinks they're auto-electricians now. One recently told me he will able to diagnose a problem and even start my car (N47D20). After diagnosis, he sent "reports" with generic codes, after I specifically told him that I want BMW specific codes. He then said the generic codes are just are reliable the BMW-codes, which rang alarm bells. Later he sent me YouTube videos, as he apparently did some research on possible causes and solutions to my problem! Joke is, the vehicles in the videos had different motors, and some of the sensors are sitting in different locations, which a competent technicians would have known.

The guy goes by the name Nigel and lives in Bellville. Be careful for these wannabe's.
