Eina (E46 related)

This is actually the 3rd or 4th time this happened to me in my E46. I usually keep my garage remote key in the little box under the light switch (on the right bottom of the steering). Anyway, since it's a spare remote, I put the remote back once i pull the car into the garage.

However, sometimes I forget to close the lid and turn around to get out of the car, with my right knee jabbing the box cover :cursin:

Anyone else confess to doing the same thing :mmm:

It's second nature for me to close that cover lid, because my E46's lid mechanism broke once. I don't want to break it - they're not cheap to replace

I dont hit my knee, as I have teeny tiny legs.. But often I get to my destination & find that its open when I go to put the GPS away again..

My wife regularly hits her head when getting into the car, on the roof part by the door.
Don't really know if it's cause she wants to get into the bmw so badly that she doesn't bend down far enough?? :dunno:
All I know is it's funny as hell, but also hurts me, cause I get smacked everytime she does it and i break out in laughter. :spit:

What about when you just got in, and start driving off looking cool with the window open,
and your arm resting on the door, then the car auto-locks the door, and you get pinched...!!! :cursin:
That's also pretty Eina!!

My jetta used to do that, my E39 has some problem with the bootlid handle that doesn't open from outside and therefore it doesn't lock by itself. Everytime the Jetta locked and it caught my wife's "Tatta-vette", I would get k&k'd on from a dizzy hight as if I did it... Eish.... 'n Donkie stamp sy kop net.... keer!!

i used to constantly kick my shin on my tow bar when i walked around the back of the car in the garage, now the tow hitch stays unclipped and inside the boot :)

On two of my previous cars I had some idiots driving into my Towbars and leaving them with the damage, therefore I will not easily remove the hitch, but I know that sore shin feeling...

That little compartment is the perfect size for a baby glock or a PPK, I don't think you will get anything bigger than that in there. I use it for my digital camera storage and nothing else, but yes I also hooked my knee once and learnt my lesson, its always closed...

Never happened to me my compartment does not have the flap to open and close, mine stays open for business like a bakkie with no tailgate (that sounds wrong)
