Hi Guys

Did any of you guys fit these on your cars and how do the compare.

I'm looking at fitting a Set H&R Sport springs but still waiting on a price.

Eibach Pro Kit - R4000
Vogtland - 50/30 kit - R4500
H&R Sport Springs -35/20 - .?

If you guys have any suggestions of dealers in cape town let me know please.

Then there is also a set Maxtrax Coil overs for R4000 neg.

Then also another thing. The law is currently heavy on the low cars even those fitted with the above mentioned spring kits and coil overs. But apparently they let you slide if your car was at a suspension place and the kit was fitted there or they are SABS approved.?

Thanks

Eibach and H&R are virtually the same thing if im not mistaken. I've had H&R springs paired with Koni shocks on a few of my cars and I've always been happy with the ride comfort and feel.

As for the law being strict on low cars.. maybe that's a CPT thing? Besides, how would you prove that? Drive around with all your mod receipts? ? what if you bought it like that?
My own 2c - I'd avoid tbe cheapo Coilovers. They offer little comfort and minimal adjustment.

Hi there H&R are under Bilstein and are really good springs. I was very impressed with how solid but comfortable they feel. It rides very similar to the stock springs but have the benefits of much improved handling. I have a set on my car on 1o's and a 30 profile tyre and it really is not hard. Maxtrac is not going to be the same. Your eibach is pretty much the same quality. I can't comment on the other brand as I have never experienced it. As for the law, it's national... Eastern Cape is also clamping down hard and have even publicised their angle of attack on the "low riders".

Thanks Bud. Yes, also have Koni Str shocks pair currently with G&M lowering springs which give me a 60mm drop. Car drives nice not too bumpy at all. but too low for me when i'm having passengers.

If I were you, find out from the supplier of the springs if they could assist you with the legalities. I'm pretty sure they will gladly provide you with something in writing surrounfing their product meeting SABS standards. I certainly do think that they would have to have some sort of compliance to safety standards within S.A. and then save yourself the headache and find out from suspension places if there are any advices/guidance they could offer you. The last thing you need is to be dealing with the law for something as silly as a car that has actually been improved with quality components. Try standing your ground when a cop pulls you over and you will see how fast things can escalate. Not everyone has equal knowledge and couple that with a little bit of power and all reasoning goes out the window. Goodluck bud and let us know about any advices you get pertaining to the "Dropped Suspension" law

Eibach and h&r are definitely not the same.
They are made differently and have different spring rate specs.
To say they are the same is strange...

That's what I remember the guys at Koni telling me years back. But like I said I may have been mistaken.
Put some facts down if you're in the know. It would be nice to understand how they are different.

I wouldn't accept that from the guys at Koni then. Should of asked them how they base their opinion....anyway. Depending on the springs and for what car but as an example for F20/22 the spring rates are approximately :

H&R M135i Rear = 348 lb/inch
OEM M135i Rears = 383 lb/inch
Eibach Rear = 384 lb/inch
'AC Schnitzer' Rear = 384 lb/inch
H&R M235i Rear = 392 lb/inch
OEM M235i Rears = 417 lb/inch
OEM M140i Rears = 587 lb/inch
