ECU upgrade E90

hi guys, a friend of mine told me that i got the old software on my car and if BMW upgrades the software, then the left side seatbelt wont sound when not put on and an occupant in the car(sitting on the left passenger seat), if so what other changes does the software help with?

i booked my car into Cedar Isle Auto on thursday and told them to double check all of this.

AFAIK if there is someone in the passenger seat and the car is moving the belt needs to be on or there will be that beeping sound

It doesn't have to do with software updates but coding of the car. I have not heard someone deactivating the seatbelt warning. There is a slight chance the seatbelt attachment is integrated with the airbags on that side.

Bmw wont do that passanger seat belt thing cause of safety reasons.

My '07 'binged' when there was a passenger in the passenger seat and not wearing a safetybelt. The Dynamic only 'gongs' when the driver is not wearing his safety belt... :dunno: Dont know if its a software update thou...?

On the e46 at least the airbag system is linked to the seatbelts, the seatbelts have to be fastened for the airbags to work, so it would probably be safe to assume that it will be similar system on the e90.

cool, i dont have any issues with the GONG that it does, speaking of BMW M's dynamic, my buddies LCi doesnt even squeeke when someone is in with no seatbelt on which i dont feel is right, anyway lets see what they say tomorrow, i would still like the belt warning on tho.
