Hi Guys,

anyone has contacts for importing stuff from the US. just ordered some stuff from ECS and bloody SARS charged me like 40% of the order that i have to pay at the post office:RedNo:

USPS courier, took about 45days of those mostly sat here at our customs:smashScreen:

afaik - 20% is the normal duties for car parts and accessories! Then you add VAT to that and you almost at 40%.

You could try and ask the seller to declare a lower price on your package. That has worked for me before. It should save you a little on the fees. I used to buy model cars from the USA and some of the sellers would declare a value of $10 on my packages (items bought cost between $50-80)

Postbox Courier have opened their Miami depot, and without asking the last time I used them they mark down your order. Was really happy with their service.

Try getting the seller to post as "gift". Also works sometimes to bring the import duties down or waive them completely.
