Hi guys, we bettered our E9X M3 record today. Got it down to 12.4 and our trap is up 3-4km/h. Only change to the car since last time is a new file, so software only. The only hardware the car has is the decatt. That's it.

We learnt something on my car recently and applied those changes to the map. I think the guys have seen my car run recently and it revs like crazy up the top of the rpm band in each gear. We mapped the Durban V8's with that map, and Ashfaq says he got wheelspin at the top of 1st into 2nd gear, and even from 2nd into 3rd gears he lit up the rears. Takes some doing to light the rears on an M3 with decent rubber in 3rd gear. So the changes we have learnt are really working up top and making the cars accelererate. Waiting for the official results, but I think our highest trap between the 2 V8's was 186km/h. That's not bad for cars with basically no hardware.

The racing was at Margate, which has just been awarded National status. So they had the SA National drags there and some good times went down on Sunday. There were about 7 fully modded e36/e46 M3's there running around 13.2 trapping high 160's, low 170's.

Margate

Shewin, this may be off topic but i understand that Margate was officially accredited with National & Regional status as recently as this weekend? Do you know what the criteria was for approving it?
I am asking because KZN motor racing absolutely deserves this!!!
It is about time that national championship achivements are recognized in Provinces that can provide the facilities.
People often forget this scenario: Imagine with our street cars & all our racing requirements & food in the boot....driving from Durban to ODI or Tarlton (3x per quarter) to compete or just to practice. About 6 hours one way?

I am so glad this has happened. I remember there were concerns about the availability & cost of accomodation at Margate...the condition of the track and the fact that Margate did not have the premier National or International status as Tarlton...But it has so much more to offer...such as beautiful surrounds; the coast where one can run great times; and complimenting the strong KZN motorsport culture....most of the time (before) it became an issue or lack of regional funding for Margate & most often competition between the KZN & Gauteng provinces...But this is now changing

I would really apreciate your comment on this. I know i might be missing core economic issues here but it will help to fill the gaps in my head...thx

Once again congrats to the ///M cars raising the flags high.:thumbsup:
