Hi Fanatics
I have a 2009 E92 N54. A few months ago the low beam xenon started flickering, and occassionally I would get a warning on the dashboard. I understood this would mean a new xenon ballast, but had not ordered it yet.
Then, just a few days ago, the entire headlight stopped working - the daytime running lights, the high beam, everything, and the error code is A8C6.
In the various forums, there has been mention of water getting into the lights, or corrosion, as being possible causes, but I can't see anything like this from the outside.
I also believe the FRM can lock out after 50 short circuits, but I never go a short circuit error.
Is it probable that both the high beam and daytime bulbs could have blown simultaneously? Or any other thoughts on this issue?
I'm hesitant to take to BMW as they are bound to try sell me new headlights and a new FRM....
Much appreciated!! Frank
