Wow! That is dam scary. What is the cost of this sort of resprayed if you don't mind me asking? Assuming its sprayed the same colour as the original.

It's not cheap hey. I'm getting discount because I'm in the trade, but it's around a R40k job usually. Yes, it's going to be the same color.

Ok, a little update. The car has just come out of paint. It's gonna be standing for a few weeks for the paint to cure properly then it's off to assembly and polishing. I must say, I'm pretty impressed with how the paint job looks already, straight out of paint.

The new paint already pops straight out of the booth.. Looks amazing.. On an aside what is your plan to protect the paint when it is done?

Heh, I've been worried about this myself. Obviously going full VPS is the preferred solution. It's just dropping another R20k to get this done that's not so great. I'm sure there's cheaper options, but the cheap stuff hurts the result more than preserves it.

I dunno which direction to go to be honest.

Maybe just do the front end of the car ...bonnet , bumper and fenders ....otherwise risk it and pamper the paint

+1, the highest risk areas are the front of the car, but surprisingly I found out to my disappointment a while ago, the rooftop as well -> the stone hit the windscreen and flew over to hit the roof, leaving a nasty gash above the rear windscreen. :blueCry:

I will post the name and address of a business that does glazing at a decent price, just have to go and look it up on the sticker on my E30 :=):
