Hi Guys,

When is the new shape M3 getting launched, and what do you think it will do to the prices of the E92 ?

Everyday I check auto-trader for E92's, but I just cant warrant spending that much to go from my car to that......just yet.

Since its the last of the NA V8s, i think its gonna hold on to its price much better. Sure every car has to depreciate, but also has to reach a point in it life where the price sorta stabilises.

I found this out the hard way when i sold my e46. Sure i wouldn't have made any more money if i kept it any longer, but i could have kept it longer without loosing much.

Agree with Ash, but even now the price is dropping pretty bad, but I guess all brands of cars are like that:thumbdo:

i think the problem with these cars is BMW release too many "limited edition" versions and generally too many different versions of the same car; rendering the normal ones just that, normal.

still a beautiful car but prices are coming down a lot...

What happens when they come off motorplan price wise ? :dunno:

Motorplan or not. M3's will always call a price as they get older. Your current e46 should bare testament to this. If its a fairly new outgoing model, then yes MP will affect its value. But further down the road, people don't really care as most of they will not have MP.

I don't think that the V8 will be such a popular choice when out of motorplan as the E46 was, probably the manual will hold better value as the DCT box is about R130k to replace & many people can rebuild the E46 M engines same cannot be said for the V8's will have to wait & see. if you got alot of moola to play with then obviously you won't mind if it is out of plan but then u should already own one. I predict that as it goes out of plan yes prices will stabilize & hit the high R300k mark & many will supercharge or even turbo charge. Sav is currently busy with one. I say keep a full spec one (CF roof, Mdynamic, DCT) as a Sunday car. Sure it will be a collectors piece in years to come.
