E92 M3 Advice/Suggestions on free flow exhaust

Hi guys,

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I'm been weighing up my options on a free flow exhaust system for my E92 M3 2008 M-DCT (Quite a mouthful that)
My main concern is my Motorplan.:nono:

I've had AC Schnitzer before so I'm not keen on that system again and after scouring Youtube I discovered Meisterchaft GT2 with LX Pipe and wow it's the best sounding E92 M3 I have ever heard.

I contacted them and they can ship a system to me and they have assured me it won't effect my Motorplan or oxygen sensors on the exhaust system.
I've also contacted Tubi exhausts and their system sounds good but nothing like Meisterchaft
I've also contacted Rob Green........but I'm not entirely convinced?

Has anyone tried these systems or suggestions on other systems, if you have please let me know your thoughts?

I think the exhaust will affect motorplan if im right bud
The only one that wont is the ACS one, but i could be mistaken

As for others, Van Der Linde do an awesome pipe for the E92 M3
One of the guys i know from the forum has it on his and it sounds sick

You can also get hold of revo from the forum, i remember he had a system for sale, the Remus i think

scouse is right.. They will all affect mplan.
But saying that, there are locals with akropovic and eissenman.. They must have a good relationship with their dealer.

I also looked at a few options on my 120d... Not exactly the same league, but the information is transferable... If you want to do any after market mods like exhaust and order to keep motorplan: It must be a BMW product, or a AC Schnitzer product fitted by JSN. Interestingly enough, apparently any claims related to AC S equipment are repaired at the dealer in JHB's expense.

I would definitely keep the motorplan intact, as the car is only 2 years old. This is also on the assumption that the mileage is low...

I echo the sentiments of everyone on here. Any exhaust besides ACS will have repercussions on your 'plan. But if you have a good relationship with your dealer it shouldn't be an issue.

What is your goal for this mod? Are you after the sound? Performance? Weight-savings? Etc? How much you want to spend?

A decent X-pipe will yield decent gains and enhance the sound. The backbox has very minimal gains but there are other options and benefits.

I'm definitely looking to enhance the sound and weight savings would be great too.
I'd like to spend as little as possible and get the best results
But I'm fully aware that goed koop is deur koop :banghead:

I don't think I'll get a decent system for under R30 000?
I asked my dealer, Bruma Auto about their thoughts on a free flow exhaust system and they didn't hesitate to say that my Motorplan would be affected :cursin:

Get a rear slip on system (just the mufflers). Most them them bolt on in under 40 mins. What you could do it take it on and off everytime you go in for a service. You don't seem to drive a lot with your mileage, so it would be a once a year (if even that) ordeal. You get get decent slip on system for about R20k-25k shipped with duties. They improve the sound quite a bit and anyting is lighter than the stock mufflers

Thats a very good idea :thumbsup:, however ive looked into this kind of thing with some of my other cars aswell with other bolt on parts

The problem is, what if you break down on the side of the road and car needs to be sent to BMW, so they come and load the car and take it to BMW, you still have the bolt on attached and no means to remove it in time

Unless of course you drive around with the OEM exhaust in the boot and quickly change it on the side of the road before the low bed arrives

Other than that its a very good idea indeed :thumbsup:

Schnitzer sounds like shit and they are a rip off. I have them on my M6, biggest waste of money I have ever spent. You also have to cut your old mufflers off and weld on the Schnitzer. There is no "bolt on" option. You would need to buy aftermarket connecting pipes to make them bolt on.

Schnitzer is also just rebadged Remus sold at a premium.

Go to another dealer & another dealer & another dealer...make the workshop manager/s sit down with you explain what you want to do on your car...make them listen :thumbsup:

Secondly, phone BMW S.A. & tell them what you want to do - and then go and put on that exhaust....:thumbsup:

One of our options from Eisenmann is a race legal only system made out of Inconel...it's fantastic...but very expensive.
