E90 Xenon Headlights

Hi!

Anybody recently had to replace the ring lights on a xenon head light assemble?

My front left rings lights are out (luckily not to main lights) and I was just wondering what the average going rate for replacement is at a BMW dealership?

Thanks

Morning,

When you say your left rings light is out, do you mean they don't glow anymore or they are physically broken?

Hey, they don't glow anymore. I guess it could be a small electrical fault but worse case scenario the lamps blew out I guess.

IIRC less than R600. Mine was done at Club Motors by around that price last year.

Or you could fit LEDs for around R600 - R800 or much more if you want the expensive ones. Check the forum advertisers section Mohammed has them or vsomain will have them too

I take it that you are referring to the Angel Eyes?

The bulb probably went. Replace with new bulb. Access to bulb via the fender liner. Will have to remove the wheel for easier access afaik.

On this topic. I am looking at buying an X5 and i noticed that the angel eyes are somewhat puny looking. Was wondering what globes to fit to give them a nice bright look as well as using them as daylight running lights. Any suggestions and prices for suitable globes will be much appreciated as well as where to buy them. Thanks! (Did i just now hijack this thread??) If so, sorry, thought it was relevant.

Looking at realoem I don't think these new headlights have replaceable bulbs. Here's the part list for the headlight. I would think 4 or 5 could be the problem. Maybe replace 4 with your original one. And see what happens.

Why didn't you just put an insurance claim in. If the headlight is damaged surely there is some body work as well?

Sorry, did not mention that it is a 2005 E53 X5 with non zenons. Should take a normal angel eye globe so the H8 CREE LED should work there?
