E90 upgrade/Retrofits

Need help with upgrading my 2010 E90 in Joburg, or anywhere in the Eastrand. Need USB, Bluetooth & pdc sensors. The car came with none of these & is just boring to drive such a car.

I'm gonna keep an eye on this because retrofitting pdc won't be bad. But all depends on cost

Do you have the Bluetooth mulf unit in the boot? If not it is a huge mission to install the BTand therefore better to get an after market BT USB with PDC device.

I don't, checked this past weekend. Problem is that I'm not even getting anything aftermarket or I just don't know where to get that stuff. I think I need more help than I thought I would need.

Yes, you spoke to me. And yes, I no longer do retrofits of any kind on the cars. The simple reason for this is that such retrofits take an incredible amount of time, especially on LCI cars where none of the required wiring is in place. Unfortunately the general public does not understand the amount of work involved and get offended when handed a quote for such work. Doing things the OEM way does get prohibitive even when using secondhand parts to do the job.

There are guys that have decided to do such an install themselves and in those cases I've helped with the coding, as my available time permits.

Believe me I have researched this a lot, it is a pain to get this done, the best advise I can give is that there is deck that has all the features and it fits to the cars existing wires, however I don't trust these sellers as I would rather find a walk in store to purchase it, there are a lot for sale on the internet, some with more features etc, check the link below,

So I went to get a quotation for fitting this stuff on my boring 3 & the gentleman advised that I just sell this car & buy one with what I need bcoz the costs may not be worth it. His charges were going to be more than 10k. I was in divorce process already with this car so I think I'll just listen to him & get me a better 3, maybe 323/5 or 330.

See when doing the retrofit with the OEM parts it tends to be extremely expensive but you are guaranteed that it will work with your car, then again you need the correct stuff, coding, some wiring changes which could lead to alot of time being consumed and is the reason why the value is so high.

I did retrofits to my car from a good person and I can tell you it is a lot of work. Thanks to him I have a beter car but then again, I had most of the stuff when I bought the car.

I retrofit FRM3 and Bluetooth to mine, cause I wanted welcome lights :tiptoe: and I wanted to use the Navigation display to its fullest (reason why I fitted bluetooth to see my contact in that little screen on the dash) :rollsmile:

And it cost me R4K for just those 2 things. Be prepared to pay for it but it is worth every penny. Oh and I am the only one, that I know of, with welcome lights on a 2005 E90

My 2009 320d LCI came with all of this as standard, so don't think it is model dependent but "spec" dependant
