E90 Traction Control

Hi All,

Is this a myth or true, does turning off the traction control allow for quicker launch? I can understand that with the DSC on the OBC will limit the rear wheels from spinning by turning the power down and limiting a superb launch.

Any feedback would be great!!

Well I would think so, in particular if you know what you are doing! To put things in perspective, my 330i suffers from time to time with the brake sensor squeal when the brakes are above a certain temperature. And with that said, after a few spirited pull-offs but gentle use of the brakes I hear this - just shows how much the rear brakes are used when pulling off with "intent".

I would say on a good surface with DSC off you should be able to get better launched than with DSC on...

Also if you have a auto..

DSC off, Manual mode 1st gear. Hold brakes & give gas.. rear wheels start spinning slowly.. then plant it when you release the brake...
