E90 Rear Shock absorbers

I have a 2009 BMW 323i E90 facelift Exclusive (non-M). My left rear shock has failed (very bouncy/noisy). It came standard with 205/55/R16 tires and I upgraded to the 19" wheels found on the M1 and are running 265/30/R19 tires at the back. Could the reduced profile have reduced the life of my shock absorbers? The shocks have done about 130 000 km already....

Anyway, what shock absorbers can I install as replacement that wont cost me an arm and a leg? Is it worth looking at Monroe or Gabriel? I phoned around today and it seems the cheapest shocks (OEM or Gabriel) from SupaQuick is around R2000 to R2600 a shock.

Could I go for something like Koni's given that I don't have a sport suspension to begin with? I saw those are going for around R 2000 a set?

Please advise/quote.

Firstly it's a 1M to satisfy the purists :D.

And then as speedy has said get some koni or bilstein shocks. Don't get monroes or Gabriel they are nowhere near as good as what I've recommended.

Koni fsds if you want the best or yellows if you want something sporty and adjustable to set them how you want them. Or str.ts if you want something slightly better than oem at a reasonable price. I have the str.ts on my e46 and they are great shocks.

And as speedy said pm moranor
