E90 Play on Steering Wheel

So i had a slight play on the steering wheel and i assumed it was control arm bushes and the mac also confirmed it was control arms bushes, i replaced that last month but there is still a slight play on the steering wheel and it is really annoying because i have to constantly correct the steering wheel when turning ....

i replaced the control arm bushes with oem parts.

could it be rack ends or something?

any idea what else could be wrong?

maybe i need a new mac

Have you had any work done on your exhaust, specifically the headers. I've seen exhaust places damage steering racks when working on headers. Not saying it is the problem, but worth checking out.

Wheel alignement perhaps.

Had new tyres fitted to my car a couple months back. After install and wheel alignment - took it for a drive, and had to countersteer quiet a lot.

I have a 2010 fwd auris, different setup but - I am really surprised to see guys with late model BMW's having to replace suspension components...Something not right with that.

Hope it helps somewhat.

@Lunatik was the issue ever resolved?

I can't remember exactly what resolved, This was so long ago :hammerhead:

I think I replaced , rackends, ball joints and fitted new tyres

But it was resolved eventually

Thanks , reason I ask is I never had a problem but I fitted new tyres 2 weeks back and now the car pulls right , I don't have play but I have to correct the steering which was never the case, im going back to Mintys this afternoon for the 4th attempt at Wheel alignment

That's most probably wheel alignment, why don't you try doing the alignment at Tiger Wheel
